Big news from the XYZ Registry, managers of quality new gTLDs: Apple corporation will offer XYZ domains on its store.
XYZ Registry founder and CEO, Daniel Negari, sent out a statement in English and Chinese via his official blog:
“Today we are making history, first Google and now Apple, and who knows what the future brings? Oh I don’t know, perhaps 1 domain for every law-abiding citizen in China!”
Negari’s enthusiasm is related to the recent announcement that the Chinese government is in the process of finalizing its approval of XYZ as a “safe” TLD.
The signing of standard disclaimers on government compliance is expected to open China’s gates to XYZ registrations.
“Apple Store will allow us to sell domains at really low prices, below $0.39 dollars, and thus expand our recent growth from 2 million domains to about 40 million in a matter of months. Just wait! 新年快乐”
Apple stock jumped 2.9% within minutes of the XYZ Registry CEO’s message, and is expected to break through the $100 dollar mark tomorrow.
