GoDaddy is known for holding onto its own corporate inventory of premium domains. These domain names were acquired from third parties in large portfolio acquisitions. GoDaddy keeps everything under the Namefind umbrella.
This inventory has now “lost” four two letter .com domains, also known as “LL com” domain names.
According to domain investor, George Kirikos, Chinese domain brokerage, Guta.com, has acquired all 4 remaining LL .com domains from the Namefind portfolio:
It turns out that @GutaInc cleaned out ALL the remaining elite 2-letter dot-coms owned by GoDaddy/NameFind, also acquiring DV(.)com, OV(.)com and UY(.)com
Along with DV.com, OV.com, and UY.com, Guta has acquired WV.com – as noted by Elliot Silver.
Note: UY is the ISO country code of Uruguay.
There is no indication about the amount of money involved in the sale of these two letter .com domains, but prices have dropped dramatically in the past year or so; down from seven figures, to as low as below $500,000 dollars.
It’s a very Merry Christmas for some folks in China!
