Domain industry professional, Michael Ward, is running a 5K race in Tampa this weekend, in memory of Charlie Gilbert.
Her passing a year ago from complications arising from pulmonary hypertension, is a reminder of how this condition can affect anyone, at any age.
In Michael’s own words:
“A year ago, Charlie Gilbert, a friend to many around the world, lost her fight to this disease. Charlie was loved by everyone who had the opportunity to know her. She was always willing to lend a hand and help those in need. I recall one Hurricane Season when a hurricane was tracked to come through Tampa where I live – Charlie texted me several times saying I needed to leave with my family and come stay with her and her husband and my friend Brian, in Georgia. I was stubborn and I stayed in the area – Charlie, out of love and concern, let me know how she felt about my decision 🙂
Brian has become an advocate speaking on behalf of those who are fighting this illness. He continues to create awareness for the disease and is a supporter of the Pulmonary Hypertension Association.
I will be running in memory of Charlie this weekend and have set up this fundraiser to help those who are fighting this illness today.”
