Chef Patrick: A Modern Christopher Columbus

An old portrait of Christopher Columbus as Patricius Ruddelius

Today in the US we celebrate the discovery of the New World by Christopher Columbus in 1492.

While it seems like a long time ago, modern day adventurers are still sailing the friendly waters of the Caribbean and the Gulf of Florida, eager to explore hidden coves and uncover lost treasures.

The discovery of an old diary by British Royal Navy commander Andrew Chieftains reveals some shocking details about Christopher Columbus. Chieftains wrote in 1769:

“[…] Columbus was a man known for his cunning ability to disguise his real name; in fact he was a young tavern owner from Dublin by the name of Patricius Ruddelius.”

The long lost diary contains a gravure of Patricius Ruddelius that bears a cunning resemblance to domainer Chef Patrick, who’s about to sail into the Florida waters aboard a ship full of domainers.

Meanwhile, an excerpt from the diary reveals some stunning details about the discovery of Florida:

“[…] and as the waters unveiled the hidden land full of palm trees, Don Camillo and I saw for the first time the new land that was promised to the King to be full of milk and honey and I, Patricius Ruddelius known as Cristobal Colombo took this land in the name of the King.”

This extravagant discovery comes as no surprise; Chef Patrick has long hinted of a great man in his line of ancestors.

While some speculated it had to be a Viking warrior or even a Roman emperor, the shocking truth is that Chef Patrick is a direct descendant of Patricius Ruddelius, the real name of Christopher Columbus.

With DNCruise kicking off in a few minutes from South Florida, we’d like to wish great success and bon voyage to Chef Patrick and may the spirit of Patricius Ruddelius be with him, his crew and the domainers aboard.

  1. Patrick’s epic voyage will set the stage for the arrival of the Conquistadomainers. I couldn’t make it, but mi hermano Miguel Castellanos is on board.

Do you think Patricius might possibly have been referring to the
    original Domain King, Rickelios Schwartziago?

    P.S.

Really great photo of Patricius Ruddelius.

    Superb finding.

David – I hope they’re facing calm seas and supportive weather during their journey; modern sails are stronger and carry ships further than before.

Tric – Thanks, it took a lot of effort to restore that magnificent portrait of Patricius Ruddelius to its former glory.
