GoDaddy is the biggest domain registrar in the world, but it started small.
Network Solutions ruled supreme for several years at the dawn of the commercial internet; being, essentially, a monopoly.
Being big and not foreseeing any threat by GoDaddy, NetSol treated the newcomer to domain name registrations as a “tiny company with a silly name…”
Testament to this statement arrived via Christine Jones, former EVP of GoDaddy, who tweeted:
The GC from @netsolcares said something like that to me when no one had heard of @godaddy back in 2002, as well. “You’re just a tiny company with a silly name and a goofy logo.” Doubters can be very motivating.
GoDaddy was founded in 1997 as Jomax Technologies and rebranded as GoDaddy two years later.
Not so tiny any more, GoDaddy ditched the “goofy” logo in January 2020.
Hello Lucius,
We cannot agree more with your Header.
They got rid of the silly logo showing Web masters hair on Fire after our comment.
They need to re-brand Their (.com EPA) . Institutional investors disregard Silly companies.
Ditto for GOOGLE Alphabet. JAS 7/13/2021
