Uniregistry is migrating user accounts of customers to GoDaddy, having informed some of them a month ago about the transition.
Currently, some retail accounts attempting to access their domains at Uniregistry view the following:
Following some chatter, on September 15th we inquired at Uniregistry and GoDaddy about such imminent transitions taking place and were told that there will be no drastic changes to accounts at Uniregistry in 2021.
Apparently, this type of change is not considered to be “drastic” enough!
Emails about the transition of accounts from Uniregistry to GoDaddy were sent out as early as September 1st; it’s not clear which accounts received such notices but we’d guess these were accounts with a handful of domains – not domain investors!
The email tells (retail domain owners) that pricing remains as before. At this time due to the ongoing transition, we cannot verify that, and we can only speculate on whether discounted prices offered to domain investors at Uniregistry will be maintained at GoDaddy.
This is developing news; will update as soon as feedback is received from the Uniregistry and GoDaddy executives.
Lol, godaddy is the epitome of incompetence in the industry. Uniregistry provides the best UX BY FAR. What they should do is rebrand it to GoDaddy and migrate all accounts there, not the other way around. But they won’t. As long as the strong GoDaddy brand draws in customers the incompetence will go on. Gross mismanagement. In an era where “digital” is at the center of everyday life and all related companies have skyrocketed their valuation, godaddy stock has managed to remain at 2018 levels.
