Domain sightings: Canada’s finest Bubbies!

I’m a sucker for sauerkraut and Canada’s finest pickled food arrives from the Bubbies brand.

That’s right: An American company is using our northern neighbors’ fine produce to sell it to millions of fans after pickling and jarring it.

Sauerkraut is finely cut raw cabbage that has been fermented by various lactic acid bacteria and it tastes so good straight from Bubbies.

The brand is pronounced like “bah-bees” in case you wondered and the company operates from the domain name Bubbies.com which was registered in 1997. Bubbies Pickles was founded in San Francisco, CA in 1982, when Leigh Truex began selling her homemade, naturally fermented Kosher Dill Pickles at local stores and farmers’ markets.

Here’s another domain sighting straight from my kitchen! 🙂

What’s a “domain sighting,” you may ask.

It’s when we encounter domain names in the real world, that appear on vehicle wraps and signs, billboards and business signs, and product packaging. For convenience, we group them into .com domain sightings, and other ccTLDs, gTLDs and TLDs.
