Executive summary: a handful of blog commentators appear as “repeat offenders” and attempt to gain search engine “juice”, by spam-linking their comments on busy blogs.
Both Elliot’s Blog and Andrew’s DNW.com are two such domain publications that command a large amount of daily traffic.
Elliot recently announced he won’t be letting those “viagra” comments through and today, Andrew declared he’s no longer “Mr. Nice Guy”.
We’ve said it before with our editorial “Waaaaaaaaah! My comment was not published!”
The fact is, restrictions on comments exist when the medium that carries them defines itself as a publication of content, and not as an open forum for unregulated discussions.
Therefore, it’s good to maintain a certain level and quality of exchanges – the blog host should have the last word about what goes through and what does not.
