Hippeas is a brand of tasty snacks that beat “cheetos” in flavor and crunchiness, in our opinion. These “hip peas” use chick pea, non-GMO flour as part of their ingredients.
In a recent encounter with the brand, we decided to try all three main flavors that were available at Publix:
- Vegan White Cheddar
- Bohemian Barbecue
- Nacho Vibes
The latter two are trademarked names, which means that no other snack producer can use them.
The Hippeas Bohemian Barbecue was by far our favorite, followed by Nacho Vibes. The White Cheddar was underwhelming and less cheesy than we expected, but still quite crunchy and satisfying.
And now for some fun facts, beginning with the reference that “hippeas” is a Greek word for “jockey” or “horse rider” since ancient times. Think of the “hippodrome” as a race for horses and “hippopotamus” as the chunky animal that resembles a fat “horse in the river.”
So what’s the story of Hippeas snacks?
In the spring of 2016, Italian entrepreneur, Livio Bisterzo launched the Hippeas line in London and the US at more than 18,000 stores.
The Hippeas founder stated that the proper brand launch was everything to them, especially at the beginning. The company soon expanded to more than 30,000 stores and received investments from various sources, including Leonardo DiCaprio.
That involves getting the matching domain name early on, Hippeas.com. Or HipPeas.com, if you prefer.
Acquiring it from HugeDomains was a snap, as it cost a mere $1,995 dollars at the time, per DomainTools’ Screenshots.com!
With the right domain to complement the brand, anything is possible! 🙂
