Barrage of spam from dot .Date #domain names registered at #Namecheap

A barrage of spam has been arriving in the past few days, from dot .Date domain names.

The emails contain the typical variety of spam, ranging from weight loss and hair restoration products, to learning how to fly planes.

The dot .Date registry is dot Date Limited, which at this time is unavailable at the domain nic.date.

Some of the offending spam-churning domains include the following:

  • muralzoo.date
  • momossa.date
  • blinksun.date
  • rockybed.date
  • darkdid.date
  • buckgem.date
  • nomorodo.date
  • notsites.date
  • growflip.date
  • hacklier.date
  • reviefly.date
  • lupeteen.date
  • dalibeds.date
  • cuptaff.date

All these domains have been registered with Namecheap during the past week, and are using Cloudflare proxy to mask their hosting locale.

As GDPR has destroyed the ability of online crime investigators to locate spammers, WHOIS provides no information whatsoever about the spammers who registered these domains.
