Lawyer.com Inc., operators of the premium, aged domain name Lawyer.com, have filed for the registration of the LAWYER.COM mark with the USPTO.
Registered in 1997, the domain name Lawyer.com appears to be actively providing access to legal services. According to the trademark application, the filing was done with an “intent to use” clause, which means that the applicant will have 6 months (or longer, with extensions) to provide proof of use in interstate commerce, for the following services:

It’s important to note that the mark consists of the color(s) blue, white, and grey are claimed as a feature of the mark. The mark consists of the word “LAWYER” written in gradient blue color followed by the word “.COM” written in grey.
Applying for the registration of matching marks is an ongoing trend among owners of generic domain names, following the decision by SCOTUS on the Booking.com trademark application.
