Sensational.com operator filed to register the matching mark

Saipan-based M&M Incorporated, operators of the premium domain Sensational.com, have filed an application to register the matching mark, SENSATIONAL.COM, with the USPTO.

The mark consists of standard characters, without claim to any particular font style, size, or color. This intent to use application was filed for the following products/services:

Dietary supplements; Nutritional supplements; Pharmaceutical preparations and substances for the treatment of viral, metabolic, endocrine, musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, cardiopulmonary, genitourinary, sexual dysfunction, oncological, hepatological, ophthalmic, respiratory, neurological, gastrointestinal, hormonal, dermatological, psychiatric and immune system related diseases and disorders; Pharmaceuticals for the treatment of erectile dysfunction; Medicinal preparations for stimulating hair growth.

The domain name Sensational.com was registered in 1995. It appears to have been in the possession of the company since at least 2006. Saipan is an island and a city in the Northern Mariana Islands, a U.S. commonwealth in the Pacific Ocean.

Applying for the registration of matching marks is an ongoing trend among owners of generic domain names, following the decision by SCOTUS on the Booking.com trademark application.

Since then, dozens of generic domain names have been applied to be registered as trademarks, inclusive of the TLD.

As of January 5th, 2021, BOOKING.COM is a registered trademark with the USPTO.
