A lot of domainers seem to somehow believe that Google’s creation of a mother company called ‘Alphabet, Inc.’ will magically increase the demand for related domains.
From zero to hero, the Greek word denoting the first two letters of a written language set – alpha and beta – became an overnight sensation.
Australian domain and web site marketplace, Flippa, which recently had a redesign of its web site, lists at least 79 ‘alphabet’ domains, as seen in this screenshot below:
Meanwhile, a British company named AlphaBet Capital claims that Google’s choice of the name infringes on their corporate brand.
That would be fun to follow! 😀

Seems everyone has weighed in on this except Google. When they proclaim DotCom dead maybe the run on everything else makes sense. It might behoove the press to ask the buyer why they bought not the gtld peddlers. That’s like the owner of Prozac declaring its official if you can breathe you have depression. Maybe all it is is what the premise of the gs was to begin with: “If you can’t find your EMD in DotCom now you have reasonably affordable alternatives.”
