The war of numbers between the gTLD domain registries is heating up; the XYZ Registry gave out 133,000 .XYZ domains in a Network Solutions promotion and now other domain registries follow suit.
The proud German registry of dotBerlin launched a short-lived promo on dot .Berlin domains that didn’t last long, after Sedo sweethearts DomCollect tried to “catch them all.”
But one proud owner of the ultimate combination domain, XYZ.Berlin, believes he hit the jackpot.
“Ich tink mein domain name, XYZ.Berlin, ist forever remind domainer investors how easy ist zu get a great deal mit domains, no need zu spend ein fortune zu get ein grosse name,” said Baldrick Schwanz, a Swiss domain investor from Zurich.
So far, Baldrick Schwanz has invested in gTLDs “just for shits und giggles“; naturally, his primary investment is in .com, .de, .at and .ch domains.
“In Switzerland, peoples call ze gTLD ‘Eule scheisse’, which mean owl shit but Ich believe das ist nicht gut name fur investment, and prove this will mit XYZ.Berlin, Herr Negari und dotBerlin über alles!” added Baldrick Schwanz, showing off a t-shirt with his domain name.
