China’s Internet base surpassed the 800 million mark, further establishing itself as the world’s biggest online community.
According to reports, the number of Internet users in China rose by 30 million during the first half of 2018, to an astounding 802 million; that’s a penetration rate of 57.7% for the Chinese.
The Chinese Network Information Center (CNNIC) stated that 98.3% of these users access the Internet through mobile devices.
China is also experiencing an increase in Internet court cases, and more than 10,000 such cases were handled this past year.
According to China Daily, the Hangzhou Internet Court, located in the e-commerce hub of Hangzhou, capital of Zhejiang Province, was set up on August 18 last year to cope with increasing online disputes in China.
