The Chinese domain market has entered the fourth and final quarter of the Year of the Monkey, and things are not looking good.
Domain prices are down, sales volume is way down.
This year has been a shadow of 2015, when the game of LLLL .com “Chips” reached its highest peak.
Just like the stock market, many believed that domain prices would keep on climbing.
Some bloggers also flat out claimed we don’t know what we’re talking about, when we urged everyone to be cautious and to spread their domain investments across different genres.
Now that it’s evident it wasn’t all “doom and gloom” talk, the joke’s on them; it’s sad seeing the “bag-holders” suffer, but we did warn them.
Instead of dropping the ball completely on reporting sales in the Chinese domain market, we report every few days.
Tracking short domains, between 2 to 4 characters, in the .CN, .COM and .NET TLDs has been fun, but there just aren’t as many sales as before to report.
