If 2015 was the year of the domain Chips, 2016 is the year of the domain ccTLDs.
At least, that’s what the .WS Registry is aiming for, auctioning a bunch of previously held numeric domains in that ccTLD.
Although there is no such thing as “Western Samoa” – the country was renamed in 1997 to Samoa – the ccTLD .WS was already allocated.
With that in mind, NameJet is now auctioning short .WS domains that might appeal to the Chinese domain investors.
Will the .WS domain auctions perform according to the expectations of domain investors that follow the market?
We shall see.
At least, we’ve seen one .WS domain in the wild, to be honest.
Meanwhile, we focus on two TLDs that really matter to the Chinese: dot .CN and dot .COM domains, that are between 2 to 4 characters. That’s the sweet spot and a place where Chinese domainers are investing their hard-earned cash in.
However, Sundays are typically lazy for trading of any kind, including domain names. Our list for the day is particularly short:

I was told Namejet wouldn’t auction TLDs like this.
