CQD.com : #Domain no longer stolen, returned to owner

CQD.com, a domain that was stolen from its owner by a scammer impersonating them, then sold to BQDN.com founder, James Booth, has been returned.

James Booth announced that CQD.com has been returned to its original owner, Rebecca Burns of ComQuest Designs.

” CQD.com has been pushed back to Rebecca. We now consider this matter closed. “

Both parties exchanged strong words during several weeks of controversial debates over how the domain was stolen, and who should be held responsible.

James Booth’s financial loss from this exchange is in the five figure range. The domain thief facilitating the transaction managed to pocket approximately $26,000 dollars.

If there is a single lesson to be learned from this incident: Always sign a physical contract with the seller of a domain asset, as part of your due diligence, and before proceeding with escrow.
