DNJournal, Ron Jackson’s online publication was formed as an online source of domaining information many moons ago; in the early days of DNForum, Ron’s journalistic skills found an exciting new medium and market.
Ron’s personality shines through in every transaction, including domain sales and social interaction with other domain investors. Ron covers almost every major domain conference these days, and has been doing so for many years.
Heck, Ron didn’t even get upset when in one of the early DomainGang “gags“, we announced his sale of DNJournal for seven figures. π
As with every successful venture, Ron’s ability to report the news, including weekly domain sales reports, was attempted to be taken advantage of.
Here are some sample domains that are using the success to DNJournal for their benefit, in a manner quite consistent with cybersquatting:
- wwwDNJournal.com – A classic attempt to capitalize on a web site’s typo traffic. Owned by Juanda NG of Australia, the domain is pointed to a page on DNJournal.com.
- DN-Journal.com – This is apparently using Ron’s established name in the domain industry to seed links to useless destinations, such as Domain–Name.com, Domain–Sale.com andΒ others. The content is pulled from Baler.net and displayed into a frame.
It’s unfortunate that such examples of domain abuse affect even the #1 domain name publication, DNJournal.
