Games maker Hasbro sold one of its digital assets last year, the premium domain name Game.com.
While this isn’t exactly a secret, Game.com was acquired by Hangzhou Duomai E-Commerce Co., mother company of the Chinese domain auction market, 4.CN.
The selling price for Game.com was uncovered today, once again by domain investor George Kirikos, who located the sale in the 10-K form filing of the company.
The form, filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission, states on Page 42 under Other Income:
“Other expense, net in 2014 also includes gains of $36,000 related to the sale of certain intellectual property license rights and $3,400 related to the sale of an internet domain name.”
As figures are in thousands, the actual number is $3,400,000 dollars – which points to the sale of Game.com.
Many thanks to George for digging up this extremely useful info; that’s two today, after reporting the valuation of Cars.com for $872 million dollars.
Thanks for the post!!
