Domain Name Sales, operating from DomainNameSales.com, was Frank Schilling‘s in-house platform for monetizing & selling his extensive domain portfolio.
Manned by a team of brokers that were given full reign on negotiating with potential buyers, the platform grew fast. By 2012, it was open to the general public, setting the foundation for the launch of Uniregistry and the Uni Market.
The DNS platform scored millions of dollars in sales for Frank Schilling and his clients, that used it to monetize domains via direct feeds from Google and other networks.
Upon the acquisition of Uniregistry by GoDaddy three years ago, the platform remained active, eventually outlasting the Uni Market. Until last week, when it was finally shut down, now serves as a landing page informing visitors that it’s a GoDaddy asset.
It truly is a sad sight and that sentiment is shared with many others that used the DNS platform.
RIP, DomainNameSales.
