So much passion actually, that the administrator of an online gaming site in Greece was recently threatened by an anonymous backgammon player who could not stand losing in the game.
The Greek backgammon administrator received numerous emails with threats against his life and that of his family. His company’s offices were also vandalized. The particular game of backgammon isn’t played for money or other bets, it’s merely for entertainment.
After reporting the death threats against him to the police, the Greek backgammon administrator sat tight while the special task force for electronic crime located the anonymous person and arrested him.
Moral of the story: don’t mess with Greeks playing backgammon as they take their games very seriously!

Actually, Greeks invented time. Free time, that is, from the stress that is life. So when in Greece, take a frappe iced coffee, kick back for 3 hours at a cafe and play a few games of tavli 😀 Life is good!
