Let’s face it: gTLDs aren’t for the weak, and that includes those that are physically and mentally unwilling – or, unable – to take on challenges.
Facing this health concern with a warning, Donuts, Inc. – by far the biggest gTLD domain registry in the world – has taken extra steps to protect consumers.
“Safe domain investments can be a reason to become settled and lose your dynamic, your focus and your resistance to infections,” said Donuts, Inc. co-founder and CEO, Paul Stahura.
“We have now added a clause in our T&C statement, as a disclaimer for those domainers aged 65 or older who might experience health symptoms related to stress and fatigue. We want you to be aware of that extra commitment,” added Stahura.
Individuals over 65 have a life expectancy of 78 years. Domain investors aged 65 and up have approximately 13 years to recoup any investments in the domain name space, particularly gTLDs.
“I would not let my Grandpa register gTLDs at the age of 95, God bless his heart, I’d like to have him around for a while!” said Paul Stahura, smiling.
“It’s important to remember that the younger one begins domaining, the stronger their body becomes later on; they build a resistance to the fluctuations and intricacies of the domain market, and the various anti-gTLD trolls!” exclaimed Stahura.
Donuts, Inc. is releasing new gTLDs at a rate of two every month; something that requires a lot of training for the seniors in age among domainers.
