In less than three hours after we published single letter availability lists for dot .plumbing, dot .singles and dot .clothing, all the lists were ‘scalped’ by domain investors eager to capitalize on short gTLDs.
‘Short‘ is a relative term here, as both .plumbing and .clothing are 8 letters long. 😀
Regardless, the rush of domain investors to register those memorable premiums was outstanding, as Kostantinos of OnlineDomain noted.
Having registered some domains at 101Domain.com, we have to say that they aren’t the cheapest but they seem to have the absolutely most detailed tool to peruse the status of all new gTLD releases.
That being said, Dynadot – one of our top registrars in phone support responsiveness – offers better pricing, and a fast WHOIS tool.
However, the lowest prices are being offered by eNom; at least $20 lower than Dynadot for premium domains by Donuts, Inc.
I just checked:
u.plumbing
Enom: $250
Dynadot: $230
Do you have some special pricing at Enom?
Kosta – It seems eNom gives lower pricing on premium domains before GA. It was eNom $241 vs. Dynadot $268 when I checked several domains that aren’t in GA.
Enom keeps $10 fee from every gtld pre reg, even if it is registered before you put a reserve on it, shady.
Jimmy – I don’t believe this is accurate. Do you have invoices you’d like to share?
