Escrow.com released its Domain Investment Index report for the first quarter (Q1/2024) of this year. It is an important quarterly report that takes the pulse of the domain industry’s metrics.
The overall sales volume increased, from $79 million USD during the last quarter of 2023 to $84 million dollars in Q1/2024.
During Q1/2024 the value of dot .ai domains hit yet another record, scoring sales of $2.6 million dollars. 
Meanwhile, the median price of five-character .com domains experienced a notable increase, going up from $8,500 dollars in Q4/2023 to $9,750 dollars, setting a new record. At five character, these domains are essentially “brandables” but dictionary domains as well.
