I spoke to Bruce Marler on the phone and he wasn’t pleased. The busy domainer from Missouri has been having some personal problems.
Being known for my listener skills, I asked what was going on.
“Man, you won’t believe this, I am getting stalked. An ex girlfriend that haven’t spoken to for over 20 years has gone all loco on me. I’m a married guy, I don’t need that kind of shit!”
I was skeptical at first. Women. Can’t live with them, can’t live without them. I poured myself some gin and tonic, with a thin slice of lime, smacked my lips in anticipation and asked Bruce to calm down.
“Listen dude, the ex girlfriend being around is not a bad thing. Maybe she needs affirmation that 20 years later she’s still hot. I’m sure she is. But yes, you don’t need the drama, dude. And here’s my advice, tell your wife everything about it. You must be upfront with her, should your ex girlfriend try to pull something funny on you.”
Bruce sighed, clearly upset. It’s not easy having a man to man conversation over the phone. That’s for girlfriends. Buddies do it mano-a-mano, over beer, wings and with Hooters waitresses rubbing themselves all over them. I had to give Bruce some quick, solid advice over the harassment he was getting from his ex girlfriend.
“Lucius, what should I do? I am a good guy, you know me, I mean no harm. I have a job to do, family to raise. This bullshit with my ex girlfriend is just too much.”
I sipped some more from my glass and chewed on the lime. The bitter, supple aroma awoke some well-hidden thought-processing braincells. I was ready to deliver.
“Bruce, tell your ex girlfriend that you’re a domainer. Most dames don’t have a clue what that is. She will probably think you’re just a geek fiddling with computers all day. I am sure she’s looking for the marathoner, weight-lifting, six-pack abs Bruce she used to know from 20 years ago. This way, you will be off the hook and your ex girlfriend will go hit the bars again.”
I heard a loud laughter on the other end of the line. Bruce was going hysterical.
“Dude! I’d kiss you and stuff but then I’d have to explain to my wife just that, hahaha! You saved me. My ex girlfriend will take a hike when I tell her I am a domainer. Thank you so much dude!”
