Finally upgraded to #WordPress 5.x – with a caveat!

After several weeks of beta testing the new WordPress 5.x we have safely upgraded to the latest version of this popular CMS.

We warned domain bloggers about rolling with the new version and with good reason: lots of web sites depending on WordPress reported having issues with the new embedded editor, Gutenberg.

During the test period we disabled automatic updates, and we turned that feature off before moving to WordPress 5.x. There have been several updates to the 5.0 release, and we strongly advise you to ensure the Classic Editor plugin is turned on.

When moving to a radically new version of any software system, it’s a good idea to back up your data, including web content and databases. Ideally, you should do that daily!

If you have any issues perusing our content, please let us know.

Gutenberg is junk. A floating tool bar, frame, no words, just icons. A complete failure. Coerced to learn a new system that offers no additional value. Therefore We abandoned Gutenberg and install the original wp editor.
