Sedo reports of domain sales have been averaging $2,000 to $3,000 over the course of more than a year; the domain venue generates its sizable revenue by selling vast quantities of domains.
Then again, exceptions do happen; yesterday, domain broker Dave Evanson revealed the brokerage of KHC.com for $120,000 dollars.
Surprisingly, one of the largest domain sales that should appear on next week’s Sedo sales report, is a dot .CO domain that was sold for five figures.
The domain is a female first name and although there was no NDA involved, its seller asked us not to reveal the name publicly; it will happen anyway when Sedo’s sales are posted.
Sales of .CO domains, particularly to start ups and companies looking for a short, affordable and powerful keyword, do occur, and the sale of this four letter .CO domain is a prime example.
The dot .CO Registry (CO Internet SAS) was acquired in April 2014 by Neustar.
