Legendary uber-domainer Frank Schilling is currently enjoying the sea and sun of the Cayman Islands, but his life-long dream goes well beyond our cosmos.
Often seen as a quiet, effective domain entrepreneur – all while at other times he becomes a Domainfest or TRAFFIC party animal – Frank is a man with a plan.
“My business is thriving, especially after I plastered all of my domains with that Post-It note gizmo”, says Frank, laughing.
“People thought I was crazy or at least that I have a bad taste with domain development, but baby, the clicks kept on coming.”
If everything goes as planned, Frank Schilling will be the first domainer to enter the training phase of the Russian Space Tourism program.
Reserved for rich individuals that love the adrenaline rush of extreme sports, a seat in the space rocket can turn anyone with a few millions into a cosmonaut like Yuri Gagarin, the first man in space, exactly 50 years ago today.
“Often, I imagine how our Earth looks from up there, how insignificant it all seems”, says Frank, clearly in a philosophical mood. “I wonder what it feels like to hover in zero gravity and most importantly, will I be able to still bid on Namejet from the International Space Station?”
Frank’s application could be approved as early as June, when the last US shuttle takes its final trip to space.
