Something is going on with FXF.com, a three letter domain that was in the hands of Associated Recovery LLC until recently.
In July 2016, we covered the status of several premium domains that became involved in a complex lawsuit; FXF.com was on that list.
The current status of FXF.com, which has been with Uniregistry since the court transfer orders, shows “Domain not found.”
While there is no complete WHOIS record, the domain is currently at eNom, indicating a reversal of its control back to the previous owners that held it at eNom.
Recently, IP attorney John Berryhill, shared some legal documents involving Associated Recovery LLC that might be related.
From the looks of it, FXF.com will join 744.com as yet another domain to be released from the LLC’s control.
What seems to have happened is that after the court issued the initial default order transferring the domain names, the plaintiff chose to move the domain names to another registrar. Now that the court has vacated the initial default transfer order, Verisign has moved the domain names back to the original registrar(s), but it may simply be the case that the registrars have not yet sorted out to whom the domain names are to be returned.
John – Thanks. Looks like there *is* a domain Purgatory after all!
