GoDaddy hosted a Zoom meeting today, reviewing 2020 and the effects of the pandemic on the domain industry, along with a presentation of its plans for the year ahead, and beyond.
We’ve created a PDF of the plans by GoDaddy, regarding Afternic 2.0, the future of the Uni Market, and more.
Here are some highlights:
- The Uni Market will be integrating into Afternic 2.0, which makes sense as the former Uniregistry programmers are now giving it their best to replicate and improve the experience. That will happen in 2021 and beyond.
- As far as Uni Market self-brokerage goes, it most likely will be phased out a year from now.
- GoDaddy is introducing lander pages that will be rolled out gradually alongside Afternic 2.0.
- GoDaddy auctions will deliver a fresh user experience and a much improved user interface.
- Top Searched terms in 2020 didn’t include “Covid” as it was decided to explicitly exclude that term from the results presented.
- Domain sales reported have a six month delay in order to not influence stock investors’ decisions.
- The investor app will get a much needed functionality upgrade, a reminder that the Uni Market app really hit the spot.
- Scaling up the ability to perform bulk transfers, as many as thousands at a time, will be arriving as well.
