Google: Memorial Day does not deserve its own ‘doodle’ !

It’s Memorial Day today, and in a clear disregard to the sacrifice of millions of Americans that served or serve in the military, Google did not create a special ‘doodle’ to honor them.

That’s right.

Google may add ‘doodles’ about French comedians, German scientists and Polish artists that died 20-75 years ago and still wish them through an unfitting “happy birthday” note that does not apply to the dead, but they won’t honor the American soldiers that served – and died – so that we can enjoy life.

Shame on Google for being no better than a Russian or Chinese search engine on this Memorial Day.

Visit Bing.com to see how things should look like today.

Update: Google has finally added a small flag with a yellow ribbon. Apparently, it took a lot of complaints to add just that.

good for google not putting a memorial day doodle out. America has too many holidays which cost USA in productivity. Too much money is spent to observe this and all the never ending list of”must Celebrate” days. I mean, who even cares when there’s another one coming next month and next month and next month all year long. Keep up the good judgement,Google.

joyce coley – Nice trolling. It’s a federal holiday in the US but you won’t know this unless you have a job. The fact that you’re free to post this drivel, you owe it to those that fought for this right on your behalf. Some fell on a beach in Normandy, or Vietnam so that you can show your ingratitude. You should be ashamed.

Joyce Coley – what a disgusting display of disrespect. I hope you are not an American, I mean you know seeing you used the blood of a US soldier, to write that nonsense. How ignorant is this person, Joyce, of what loss in productivity does one lose by a display on a home page of a billion dollar company? Do you think Bing.com lost money, they had US flags all over the screen. It’s a simple graphic. On going list of holiday? Memorial Day is a special importance, if it was not for the US service member dying for your and my freedom Google may not even exist and you may not have THE RIGHT to display your ignorance in a forum. Maybe this would cause your death in North Korea, perhaps you could test it out for us and start your own blog while there? I would love to hear your opinions from there. I would like to apologize for soldiers and their families that died for the people that express no regard or appreciation of their sacrifices… You should be ashamed of yourself. Your opinion is hurtful and blatantly ignorant. PWS
