With one day left until the official 200th anniversary of the declaration of independence, Mexico is preparing for a grand fiesta.
These days, the nation that once owned the entire California, Arizona and Texas is getting ready to take over the world through the proliferation of the Spanish language in America.
Meanwhile, another .co domain that was sold last month for $3,000 US dollars is about to be launched, just in time for the bicentennial.
Mexi.co is under construction and it appears to be an upcoming portal about Mexico. Well, duh! 😀
The domain hack appears to be getting ready to “assault” the non-hack Mexi.com – as seen in the source code of the web site, which contains meta tags referencing Mexi.com
The launch of the Colombian national TLD by the .Co Registry as an alternative to .com has created 500,000 domain registrations in less than two months. Nowadays, geoDomains are given a second chance in life, as several domain owners invested in Dot Co domains in order to develop into meaningful web sites.
Happy 200th anniversary to Mexico and we can’t wait to see Mexi.co as a developed property!

Now, if someone developed a US hack site… Ameri.CA what would you think of the domain?
Would it rank well for travel / real estate info on Miami, New York, Chicago, Atlanta, the Dallas Cowboys, LA Lakers, etc?
Leonard,
I think the main difference between a Mexi.co site and an Ameri.ca site is that the US has tons of portal sites competing against each other. Sure an Ameri.ca site could be built up to be a great site, but I’m just saying that because Mexico doesn’t have many of these sorts of sites, there is less competition to get to the top.

Nice hack!! Three grand for a national name = one smart buyer.
