ICANN is getting creative; the bureaucratic behemoth deciding on the future of domain names has long been proud of its multistakeholder model process.
What is the multistakeholder model anyway, and is it related to steaks?
According to Wikipedia, it’s not an exclusive ICANN process:
“The multistakeholder governance model, sometimes known as a multistakeholder initiative, is a governance structure that seeks to bring stakeholders together to participate in the dialogue, decision making, and implementation of solutions to common problems or goals. “
Essentially, this is just lingo for gathering together to enjoy food and wine and the occasional two hour meeting, with remote participation counting as well.
But let’s not be so hard on ICANN, they are trying to infuse a boring industry with some fun stuff.
Its latest illustration of the Multistakeholder Advice Development process is using Playmobil lookalike figures, making everything look like child’s play. 😀
Have a look-see below:
The guys and gals at ICANN work hard in a dangerous environment that requires the use of hard hats; after all, safety is a must.
Compare to the Playmobil figures and the similarities are striking, although there seems to be gender equality and greater racial representation in ICANN’s images! 😀
