Customers of Network Solutions aren’t the most patient bunch, and this time around issues that aren’t resolved are due to force majeure: the weather.
Network Solutions, or NetSol to its friends, operates several support hubs around the globe, presumably to offer around-the-clock support for domain registrations, hosting, and related internet services.
The oldest .com domain registrar has been addressing the increased number of complaints with this response recently:
Due to severe weather at one of our support hubs, our support team is experiencing longer than usual wait times. Thank you for your patience as we work diligently to address every call and chat.
Yes, it’s a canned response but apparently it’s real. Assuming that the support hub facing severe weather is located in the Philippines, those folks are facing some terrible weather with Super Typhoon Rai slamming the country.
The storm, which had initially packed winds of up to 260 kilometers per hour (160 miles per hour) with gusts over 300 kilometers per hour (185 miles per hour), later moved west bringing with it heavy rain and widespread flooding.
Many areas had to be evacuated due to severe weather conditions. Our thoughts and prayers are with them, and for a full recovery of the NetSol support services.
