PayPal has quietly revealed a new brand identity, including a new logo that incorporates a paired “P” symbol and altered font type for the brand.
Citing the evolution of electronic transactions, from solely on the Internet to multi-platform, cross-application transactions, PayPal seems to have taken the task of rebranding very seriously.
“When you design a new face, and a new identity, you also need to explain what you stand for,” said the company president, David Marcus.
Meanwhile, Yves Behar, CEO/Founder of fuseproject, the creative agency that did the redesign, stated:
“Capturing the soul of one of the most innovative companies in our lifetime, is a big challenge.”
The end result is a logotype that can be presented in a variety of color hues, and where the overlapping “P” letters denote the coming together of people.
We think that the new logo is not that much of a grand departure from what was already there. What do you think?
