Peloton Apparel launches without the matching .com #domain name!

Interactive fitness platform, Peloton, rolled out its own apparel line today, aptly named “Peloton Apparel.

According to the press release, the Peloton Apparel line was “crafted to outperform, outlast and stand the test of time.”

Peloton Apparel will include a line of signature styles offered season after season with the same performance-tested fit and fabrics, but in new colorways and design elements with each collection drop. There are four featured Peloton Apparel Fabrics which offer different functions and benefits from a range of compression in performance fabrics to buttery-soft, everyday pieces

Peloton Apparel does not arrive with the domain PelotonApparel.com

The Fall 2021 collection, which features a mix of men’s, women’s and gender-neutral styles and accessories ranging in price from $15-$118, is available starting today online and in select Peloton showroom locations globally.

One would think that Peloton secured the match domain name, PelotonApparel.com, but that’s not the case here. The domain was registered by someone more than a year ago and they are seeking almost $2,800 dollars for it on Afternic.

Why would Peloton not secure the exact match domain of its major brand rollout?

Relax. You can go to Apparel.OnePeloton.com as Peloton does not use Peloton.com either.

  1. Paul Hart says:

More crazy domain games. GoDaddy has PelotonApparel.com listed at under $2800., the perfect domain for them and a bargain price. What’s wrong with their management? The obvious first choice, Peleton.com is owned by an oil and gas software outfit, so kiss that one goodbye forever. If the company management is working from home, they should switch to working from a looney bin so we could understand the reasoning behind their decisions a little better.

Paul – There are several reasons, other than the obvious: Peloton is a trademark, registered or pending in several classes. Essentially, the domain is squatted on.
