Tesla Motors is one of the true technological forces of the 21st century, innovating the automotive market with their electric car, the Tesla.
Its upcoming expansion in China has now been secured, after trademark disputes with a Chinese businessman, Zhan Baosheng, have been settled.
Despite all that, the domain name Tesla.com, registered on November 4th, 1992 does not belong to Tesla Motors.
This is not exactly shocking, as the brand and popular name is the last name of Serbian American inventor and prodigy, Nikola Tesla.
Tesla.com has been owned by the same owner since at least 2002, according to the oldest WHOIS history on DomainTools. The same, or very similar web site and content is displayed since at least 2006, according to Screenshots.com. Archive.org has been blocked from displaying any type of information about Tesla.com.
Being aware of the large footprint that Tesla Motors has gained – Tesla Motors stock currently trades around the $250 dollar mark at NASDAQ – we wonder how much Tesla.com is realistically worth.
