As far-fetched as it might sound, the well-accepted and popular Pope Benedict XVI just might be the elusive speaker, opening the conference at TRAFFIC Milan.
Opening its gates in Milan, Italy tomorrow and for three days, the brainchild of Rick Schwartz will be welcoming all domainers from around the globe in a European extravaganza filled with grappa, pizza and chicken Milanese.
The recent incident that involved the leaking of a supposed British Foreign Office memo, supporting among several things the launch of a “Benedict” condom brand, has so much outraged the Vatican, that Pope Benedict’s visit to the UK is being seriously questioned.
Now it’s the time to have the Pope deliver the keynote speech at TRAFFIC Milan – what with the Catholic Church being so pro-technology and supportive of social media.
“We thought it’d be great to have His Holiness, Pope Benedict eulogize the various ccTLDs that will be auctioned at TRAFFIC”, said Rick Latona, getting ready to start up the conference. “With every domain sold, we can give away a miniature statue of Mother Mary that sheds tears every time a domain is expired”, added Rick.
Such cross-over of Church and corporations is quite common in Europe, where even the most conservative customs are considered liberal by American standards.
Looking forward to TRAFFIC Milan’s successful launch!
That’d be awesome to have, a mother Mary domainer statue π
LOL
We offered Rick to auction off INRI_com at Milan traffic.
But ….
If the pope would do the opening speach we maybe would give it as a gift to him π
