Postboard.com : Unmoderated chatrooms don’t last long

Postboard.com is a domain that once belonged to the Frank Schilling portfolio. It became part of the Uniregistry assets that were included in the sale to GoDaddy, a little over a year ago.

In the days predating Frank Schilling’s legendary Domain Name Sales outfit, Postboard.com was used as an experimental chatroom open to everyone.

Launched in 2011, it was meant to be a testbed for what would eventually become the Uniregistry marketplace’s web interface for domain inquiries, allowing sellers and buyers to converse in “real time.

Alas, just like any open chatroom without any filters or moderation, Postboard.com did not last long. The chatroom became a magnet to people that were looking for trouble and had the potential to put minors to danger. It was shut down and it currently forwards to Uniregistry.com.
