The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has coordinated Project TransAtlantic VIII, that along with European, Asian and South American authorities went after domain names hosting counterfeit goods.
During the process, several interlinked domain names offering fake automotive products were seized.
The primary domain, FarEurope.com, was selling counterfeit automotive parts, such as belts, with a Chinese origin. Many of these are being produced and sold off Alibaba stores in China.
Other domains seized by the coordinated effort include:
- Far-Europe.com
- ChinaSeatbelt.com
- ChinaSafetyBelt.com
- AirbagPart.com
Europol has also created a video demonstrating the damage that counterfeit goods can do to the economy and consumers:
Recently, the FBI also seized domain names involved in the Backpage.com raid, along with other, generic domain names used by sex workers such as escorts to advertise on.
