Australian domain investor and frequent mile flyer, Sidney Feelmore, minced no words on Thursday, as he got off the plane from attending Domain Europe in Valencia, Spain.
“I’ve seen, and I use the word loosely, some pansy domainers tinkle with those cockies, the gTLDs. It’s absolutely remarkable to me that domainers can crack a fat on this type of chunder, mate, I’m gobsmacked!”
Sidney Feelmore is well known for his position on Australian domain names, that end in .com.au and .net.au, having stock-piled lots of esoteric keywords that nobody buys.
Despite the fact that even famous Australians, such as Kylie Minogue, don’t seem to recognize the existence of Aussie domains, Sidney Feelmore carried on with his assault on the newly launched gTLDs:
“Fair suck of the sav! Take a squizz at this mate, we ought to kill those mozzies before they grow into a mob of roos, all while Oz names stay spiffy. Gotta stay true blue, mate!”
Feelmore’s rants can be attributed to the clear threat that gTLD domains are displaying among end users in the Australian market, which will push aside the overpriced, silly-looking Aussie TLDs. Either that, or chugging too much beer while on the plane.
Several Australian domain investors are actively cherry-picking top tier gTLD domains, to launch a barrage of developed, turn-key solutions with Aussie content, thus pushing aside fellas like Sidney Feelmore.
Nobody in Australia likes a whacker, as it is.
