In February of this year we disclosed that the domain name WTD.com has been stolen from its rightful owners, via a proxy method.
That method, however simplistic as it might be, involves the recreation of the managing email for that domain, if it belongs to a domain that expired.
The current holder of WTD.com not only did not listen to our advice to return the asset to its rightful owners, but instead they enabled WHOIS shield for the domain with GoDaddy.
Initially, WTD.com was held at PacNames by its lawful registrant.
Today, we received an email from the lawful owner of WTD.com who just so happens to be a solicitor. Of all the types of registrants that the dumbass domain thief could have targeted, they picked the wrong one: an attorney and law firm counsel! 😀
Part of the information that we can disclose, is that GoDaddy has been notified to freeze the domain WTD.com and that litigation is due to begin before the end of April against all parties involved.
Domain thieves must be charged with a felony, as the digital assets they steal are often worth thousands of dollars. Personally, we’d add 300 lashes as well.
TGIF!
Nice to hear!
Josh – The legal salvo is about to be fired, all cannons are loaded. PS Where is the dancing banana? 😀
