“All’s well that ends well.”
This Shakespearean play title would perfectly suit the case of the (formerly) stolen domain name, WTD.com.
After reporting WTD.com as stolen in February and alerting the domain community, the legitimate owner established a due process that despite his legal background took several months to complete.
At the time, WTD.com was offered for sale on DNForum and NamePros, in an apparent attempt to offload it; the thief had sold it on a Chinese domain auction site for $4,000.
When the Chinese buyer was informed that the domain was stolen, he became unresponsive and uncooperative, despite being advised of the domain’s status several times.
As of today, the domain name WTD.com is no longer stolen, after the rightful owner informed us that “wtd.com is now safely back” in their possession.
Domain holders of valuable assets are advised to keep their domains locked at all times, to incorporate security measures such as non-shared passwords among accounts, and to never ever click on email links that ask them to log into their registrar account.
TGIF! 😀

That’s great news. Now if you could only hang the thief!
Vincent – 😀 True, especially since that’s a common way to treat criminals in China.
