#Twitter protest : Rick Schwartz cancelled business account, waves farewell in 2018

The Domain King, Rick Schwartz.

Rick Schwartz announced that he’s cancelled his business account at Twitter, removed his billing info, and did so in protest.

Calling Twitter a time-consuming habit that will take 30 to 60 days to break, the Domain King is walking away from the online medium next year, protesting Twitter’s lack of support in returning Mike Berkens’s stolen account, @thedomains.

The latter was compromised several days ago, by a cybercriminal who demanded money in order to restore it; Twitter has yet to return the account to Mike Berkens, despite numerous reports about its status.

Said Rick Schwartz:

“Cuz of what’s happening to @thedomainscom w/ theft of real account, ransom demands and NO customer service by @Twitter, @TwitterSupport, I cancelled my business account today and deleted my credit card info. I think I can find better things to do with my time in 2018. #Domains”

Regarding how he plans to spend his time in 2018, the Domain King stated:

“.@Twitter is a habit. But I always know the formula & 30- 60 day timeline it takes to break a bad habit & turn it into a good habit. So 2018 will start with me turning a bad habit, @Twitter, to a good habit doing something else with this valuable time. #Domains #Startups #Play”

Does this mean that Rick Schwartz will return to blogging, at RicksBlog.com? We sure hope so! 😀

Rick’s Twitter commentary can be peppery at times, but he has been sharing valuable tidbits of domainer wisdom, accumulated over the course of 20+ years as a domain investor.
