Last October we noted how PPC services provider, Voodoo.com, had wrapped up six months of sub-par service.
It’s now been 15 months since Voodoo, once popular with domain investors parking their domains, effectively stopped answering emails, tickets, and other prompts to communicate with its customers.
The latest news about the Voodoo.com saga: Their web site stopped responding. As of yesterday, broken web services produced a 502 error, indicating a network misconfiguration:
A 502 Bad Gateway Error means that the web server you’ve connected to is acting as a proxy for relaying information from another server, but it has gotten a bad response from that other server.
Today, the web site server responds with a 500 error, which is even more generic:
The 500 Internal Server Error is a very general HTTP status code that means something has gone wrong on the web site’s server but the server could not be more specific on what the exact problem is.
In early May of this year, the domain Voodoo.com was about to expire. At the time, we reached out to GoDaddy executives regarding this matter; the domain was renewed for two years soon after.
Currently, the IP address 192.64.147.150 hosting about 13,000 parked domains is active, resolving to a generic lander by Voodoo.
Update, July 10th: The Voodoo.com web site is back from the dead, resolving to its standard web site.
