Walk.com: Still “under construction” 7 months after seven figure sale

In July 2021, the domain Walk.com was reported as sold in a deal that reached seven figures USD.

The sale appears to have taken place using Epik’s escrow services, per a discussion on DNForum.com. There is no report of a sale recorded at NameBio.

Registered in 1995, Walk.com is a top tier, dictionary .com domain with a value well into the seven figure range.

And yet, seven months into the sale the domain’s landing page is nothing more than a notice that says “Website under construction!

Which reminds us of one important aspect of rolling out a project associated with a sizable acquisition of a domain: Ensure the plan is complete.

Walk.com

Rolling out Walk.com within a couple of weeks of its acquisition for “seven figures” would be ideal and would help create a momentum in traffic. Weeks and months later, that momentum is lost.

Domain investors selling domains to end-user buyers for substantial amounts of money benefit from this type of approach to rolling out brands and services on the domain. Even if the new products and services are rolled out on a fast cycle production, the idea is to associate the domain with the brand and maintain sustainable traffic.

There is no information about who acquired Walk.com in July 2021 and current WHOIS data simply displays the Philippines as the registrant’s locale. Walk is both a noun and a verb, only four letters long, and can be used for a wide range of services, such as health and sports trackers, social media and political campaign creators, and so much more.
