At long last!
After years of displaying a mediocre web site, the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) sports a spiffy, well-designed web site.
The layout utilizes sharp, clean font types and a contrasting color scheme to deliver lots of well-organized content about trademarks, service marks and patents.
Most major links are one click away, thanks to a massive but efficient super-menu, that appears once the visitor hovers over the main three options: Patents, Trademarks, Learning and Resources, along with a Quick Links menu.
Pages load very fast, thanks to the zero to minimal use of graphics; it is a government web site, after all, but the end result is far from boring.
Meanwhile, the Trademark Electronic Search System (TESS) that is part of the USPTO web site, appears to still be using the previous design, so we’re sincerely hoping that this monolithic segment will be updated next.
Overall, a job well done: 9/10.
