Short, numeric domains in almost every TLD seem to be doing well, and .XYZ is no exception.
Still, it’s a hit or miss, and it depends on the market conditions, particularly of the Chinese domain market.
According to DNJournal, last year’s biggest single digit domain sales include 1.XYZ for $181,000 dollars and 9.XYZ for $170,000 dollars. Both sales occurred during the first quarter of 2016, when the Chinese domain market was flat.
We received notification that the auction for 2.XYZ ended, and the price is not even close to last year’s numbers: $30,606 dollars and 6 cents.
A total of 236 bids from 25 participants were placed, on the Chinese domain auction platform, West.CN.
The majority of the bidders were obviously Chinese, but the winner of 2.XYZ is not. We won’t reveal his name, all we can say is that he’s not from the US.
