A recent exchange for a Greek domain name on Sedo involved the messaging of certain information in Greek letters.
Modern browsers fully support the UTF-8 protocol which allows for the transmission of native characters and their proper display on another person’s browser and screen.
Typing and sending the message using Greek characters should not be an issue on a global domain marketplace like Sedo.
This exchange, however, converted the Greek letters into meaningless question marks, as the image shows.
Surely this is a serious omission that prohibits the full exchange of messages in native language – or could it be intentional, forcing the exchange of messages in Latin encoded languages only?
We’re not sure.
